Is it really happening?
We are less than 2 weeks away from the end of our first term and this morning, 3 years and 6 ½ months to the day after our arrival in South East Asia I got word that our flight training project has been approved by the Minister of Transport. I have actually been given a copy of the letter of approval!
It will probably take a few days for the news to really sink in but I wanted to share it with you right away.
I also wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have persevered with us over the years, for your patience, your faithfulness, your prayers and your support. This “victory” is also your “victory”. We truly could not have done it without you! Thank you!
So what’s next? Our proposal has now been submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once they have given their approval we’ll start enrolling students, renovating classrooms and offices, import a simulator etc...
And what about our furlough? A few weeks ago we were talking with our Regional Director and with the Director of Human Resources at MAF Canada. Because we are the only MAF family in the country and because we would like to start teaching our pre-training course in September we decided to shorten our furlough this year from 5 to 2 months.
It wasn’t and easy decision to make as it means that we won’t make it to Canada this year. But in hindsight it appears that it was a good choice as it will allow us to be back in time to welcome our first batch of students.
On the home front....well it is said that a picture is worth a thousand words. So here we go!
